Update!
Okay, so I was going to write this almost a week ago. But then I forgot, so I never did. And then I remembered, but wasn't next to a computer. And then I could, but I forgot. And the cycle continues... Until, finally, I'm doing it now. SO. All the way back on June 18th, Katie bleached my hair. Only part of it, more like a band of blonde hair from temple to temple. Then, a week later, we rebleached it to make it lighter and stuff.
Canada Day was a full day. In the morning, we dyed my hair green! It looked super cool. I kinda wish Manic Panic would last longer, because it's fading a bit already, but that's okay. I can always dye it again. Then Katie and I went to UBCO meet some other people that we would be attending the Canada Day celebrations with. On the way there, my dad called me and told me some terrible news. My grandmother passed that morning. I was really sad, but not nearly as much as I thought I would have been--maybe because we aren't physically close at the moment. Maybe I'll feel it more when I go home.
On the same day at about 4pm, my mother and sister arrived for their visit. They had already spent about a week in Evergreen, Colorado, and a few days in Vancouver, and now my mom is with us until the 14th. My sister will stay with us until the 27th or so; after that she is going to Earthwatch on the coast. Finally, we went back downtown to watch the Canada Day fireworks at the lake. They were really cool, even if they didn't even approximate New Year in Rio, lol.
The we rode a bus back home--a double-decked jam-packed with people, at least half of which were clearly drunk. Oh yay.
In any case, July 2nd marked the completion of my second decade of life. It doesn't feel any different, haha. But as is customary now, we had dinner at a Japanese restaurant (go O-Zeki!). Then we watched Ice Age 3 in 3D and I got a headache. At night, my mom brought out some pictures from when I was younger and we shared stories with Katie. We also looked at my "O Livro da Vovó" (The Grandma's Book), which has lots of pictures and stories outlining my grandmother's life so far. That was also very nice

Earlier today, I bought my first digital camera--a DSLR for Photography class. I found this great deal that includes two lenses, a carrying case, a tripod, three filters and some other stuff, all while saving almost US$230 total. I'm excited to get that :3
Tomorrow, July 7th, Katie and I will be celebrating 6 months together. They have been 6 amazing months <3 and I can only see there being many six-months more.
Also tomorrow is my registration day for 2009/2010 school year. I hope I can get into all the classes I want - Drawing, Photography, Computers, Philosophy and Creative Writing.
On the 10th, my mother is taking all of us to the Rocky Mountains for four days. It will be amazing, I hope. I'm really excited about it. Unfortunately I probably won't have my camera yet >: But that's okay.
Well, that's all folks! Stay tuned for more...next time I remember to write. Lol.
It's July 2nd which means it's your special day. Hoping you have a fantastic birthday, get some nice gifts and generally get to enjoy it lots.

Instead of counting candles,
Or tallying the years,
Contemplate your blessings,
As your birthday nears.
Consider special people
Who love you, and who care,
And others whove enriched your life
Just by being there.
Think about the memories
Passing years can never mar,
Experiences great and small
That have made you who you are.
Another year is a happy gift,
So cut your cake, and say,
"Instead of counting birthdays,
I count blessings every day!"

Love that lives in the heart cannot be so easily terminated by time. Even though the encounter is brief its impression shall last a lifetime. No one can change the direction of love that lives in the heart. If you have loved that in itself is the answer.
